A nice place to eat and chill. Although the table seating and setting was a bit segregating the atmosphere. We've been arranged at the table next to bar table. The interruption from staff moving in and out, cutlery and bottle chucking etc was unpleasant noise. We've to ask about the complimentary pasta fries since every table had received one and we just being left out. Staffs face expression could be noticed as if they were enjoyed at work or not. They complained to customers not showing vouchers during order while we listened their conversations because seats were too close you cant avoid it.
Chicken speeding the chicken was cold. Dirty pig and half Duo Verde pizzas were messy this times not as great as the first time. Ingredients were all over the place and lesser. For £16.50 pizza, shouldnt the ingredients to be more generous? A tiny suggestion the pork crackling is too big and chunky, it would be better and easy to eat if slightly small size.
Pasta is life🍝
Ever since Zizzi opened at Fosse Park, it has been a go to for dinners (if not wanting to travel far) and for takeaways (their pizzas are incredible!!!).
I visited twice last month and on both occasions opted for their new fresh pasta dishes.
I went for the truffle and pancetta carbonara (first photo) which was so flavoursome and very creamy.
I then went for the signature beef and chianti ragu (second photo), which was so wholesome and had this lovely feeling that resembled a home-cooked meal🥰.
In the past, I have steered clear of pasta dishes at big chain restaurants like Zizzi and Prezzo as the pasta never tasted fresh and was always very inconsistent. However, you can definitely taste the difference in the quality of the ingredients being used in these new “fresh pasta” dishes. I feel like my faith has been restored in these big chains🫶🏻.
They also have a hot smoked salmon carbonara and a campanelle lentil ragu, that are part of the range of fresh pasta dishes.
If you haven’t tried them yet, get booked in!!!
Had the new mushroom "pizza" was really just garlic flat bread with some blobs of a strange tasteless mushroom mix, a few shreds onions and peppers for £16.50 which is outrageous.
Overall service and food was good, especially the deserts. Without any kind of promotion the prices are absurd though.
